Get a tutor

Often, problem subjects are caused by an inability to understand a few key concepts. If those concepts are the building blocks for most of the subject, self confidence in the whole subject can be shattered. Once that happens, you start to believe that you’re ‘just no good’ at that subject and begin to dread the lessons as they make you feel inadequate.

It’s easily done. You only have to miss a couple of important classes, or have a teacher that moved on to another point before you really ‘got it’, or described it in a way that you found difficult to understand.

Good tutors are not cheap, but they can be the difference between a pass and a fail (one saved my backside at college). If they find out where you first hit stumbling blocks and can find a way to relate the information to you, they can begin to restore your self confidence.
